The Dutch Warmblood originated in the
Netherlands.

The Dutch Warmblood is in the warmblood group.
History:
The Dutch Warmblood is a relatively new breed. During the 1900’s Dutch
breeders developed the Dutch Warmblood by selecting their best
Gelderlander and Groningen mares and breeding them to Thoroughbred
stallions they imported from Britain, Ireland, France, and the United
States. Trakehner, Holstein, Selle Francais, Hanoverian, and some
Westphalian blood lines were added to the breeding program.

Dutch Warmblood is 16HH to 17HH.
Colors: The
most usual colors of the Dutch Warmblood is bay, or brown but any solid
color is acceptable.
Description:
The Dutch Warmblood is a horse of
harmonious proportions; a refined, intelligent-looking head with alert
ears; pronounced withers and sloping shoulders; and a strong back and
hindquarters.

Temperament:
The Dutch Warmblood has a good
temperament.
Uses: The
Dutch Warmblood has excellent action and ground-covering strides. This
makes them suitable for modern sports such as dressage, show jumping, and
carriage driving.
