Description: The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog is
strong and muscular with a deep broad chest whose breastbone
extends slightly ahead of its legs. Its strong straight legs
end in compact feet. The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog has a
broad flat skull and triangular ears. The Greater Swiss
Mountain Dog is in the Working group. |
Colors: The Greater Swiss Mountain
Dog has a beautiful tri-color double coat; black with rich
rust and white markings.
Coat: The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog is an average
shedder and requires regular brushing.
Temperament: Watchful and protective, the Greater
Swiss Mountain Dog is not aggressive. This dog gets along
well with other pets but must be taught not to chase them.
Puppy hood including both physical and mental maturity may
last from 2-3 years. Greater Swiss mountain dogs make good
watchdogs and will only accept those accepted by their
families. This breed prefers to be around people at all
times. |
