Country of Origin: The Brussels Griffon originated
in
Belgium.
Height: 7-8 inches (18-20cm)
Weight: 6-12 pounds (2.5-5.5kg)
Description: This sturdy toy dog has a domed head,
undershot jaw and short nose. It is said the Brussels
Griffon has a human-like pouting expression. The Brussels
Griffon is in the Toy group.
Colors: The Brussels Griffon comes in red, a
mixture of red-brown & black, black & tan, and solid black.

Coat: There are two types of Brussels
griffon: Rough-Coated (harsh wiry and dense), and
Smooth-Coated or Petit Brabancon variety (short, straight,
glossy). This breed sheds little to no hair.
Temperament: This charming and clever dog makes an
excellent companion. The Brussels Griffons are high-strung
and lively and will cause a fuss if they believe they are
being threatened. Brussels Griffons loves to bark, and be
spoiled. They can also be picky eaters, difficult to
housebreak and moody.
Health Concerns: Brussels Griffons suffer from
potential eye problems, slipping patellas, difficult to
breed (some require Cesarean section), and repertory
problems. |

Life Expectancy: The life expectancy for the
Brussels griffon is about 12-15 years.
Living Environment: Brussels Griffons don't
require large living quarters and can do well in small
spaces. This breed gets the exercise they need on their own.
