OCICAT
The
Ocicat, a wonderful family cat, looks like a cat out of the
wild but actually has no relation to any wild cat. Ocicats
are very intelligent and devoted cats, they love to play,
and love to be loved.
Description
Qualities
of the Abyssinian, Siamese, and the American Shorthair will
be seen in the Ocicat as this is the Ocicats ancestry.
The Ocicat is a large, active animal with an athletic
appearance. It is very solid and well-muscled and has a
short, tight coat with a satin sheen that shows off muscles
and spots to their best advantage. The Ocicat has a large,
long, muscular, strong body with medium to long legs.
Ocicats are distinctly marked with round spots running in
rows along the spine from the shoulder

to the tail. The belly also will exhibit these spots. The
Ocicat always has spots but comes in a number of color
varieties from tawny, the brown-spotted tabby, to lavender
silver and fawn silver with chocolate and cinnamon
combinations seen as well. The Ocicat is a large,
well-spotted cat of moderate type.
Characteristics and Temperament
The Ocicat looks wild and
displays the characteristics of the wild cats in the jungle,
but the temperament of the Ocicat is that of a true "pussy
cat." It is not a demanding cat by will become a part of the
family. It will get along quite well if your household
already has other cats
or dogs. Ocicats are easily trained and very sociable but do
not like to spend too much time alone. They are very
playful, and this playful inclination coupled with an
unmatched curiosity often result in humorous and comical
antics. |

Ocicats are extremely playful, but when playtime is
over, they curl up on their owner's lap. They are happy
indoors if space is not restricted, and like to have access
to outdoors.
Special
Requirements
Regular
brushing is all that is required in order to keep the coat
in good condition.
